OUR MISSION LEARN BEFORE YOU PLAY™ –
- The first step is to prioritize RETURN TO SCHOOL, before migrating to the second step, RETURN TO PLAY.
The diagnosis of concussion is usually based on the presence of many symptoms, both cognitive and physical. Traditionally, however, the decision to return to play is often made without regard to the cognitive ability to return to school, assuming that if the physique is fine, everything is fine.
reACT has designed a concussion management program for healthcare professionals, athletes, parents, and school, organization, and sports league workers; the program aims to help better understand and recognize concussion. - Restore life autonomy to student-athletes who have suffered a concussion. Monitor and manage their symptoms, but also teach them to set their own limits and play a proactive role throughout their recovery.
reACT intends to achieve this in three steps:
1) Certification programs and concussion education for parents, coaches, teachers and stakeholders;
2) Benchmark comparative tests; and 3) Post-concussion management and personalized return to school and play programs.
